- we could have our own forum
- etc. (I actually forgot the others that he mentioned. Maybe you can help me with this one, Lex. just post a comment.)

To get a domain or not
I chatted with Alex Aguel (the BS Physics with Emphasis on Computer Applications alumnus who has put more emphasis on the computer side of the course) this morning. He's now somewhere in Europe doing some programming thing. Anyways, he has offered to set up a domain for us. Maybe something like www.suphysics.org. As an overview, he explained to me that some of the advantages of having such a domain over this blog are:

um. i just chatted with alex a few minutes ago. i'll just paste a portion of it:
vxd2000 vxd2000: maximum of 500 with 5G limit on each mailbox
vxd2000 vxd2000: unlimited sub-domains .. which means you can have olympics.suphysics.org (for physics olympics activities) or have seminars.suphysics.org, etc. ..etc ...
alex = vxd2000. he just paid for it, so i think it's done.
ooh. nice. so how does it work now?
Alex here:
Good to hear your comments guys. Anyway, domain registration for suphysics.org is on the way. Dont worry about other hosting sites limited space and restricted bandwidth (like 200mb of space and 5G of bandwith per month offered by philhosting and other local providers plus you have to pay separately for the domain). You will have at your disposal 20GB of space and 300GB of monthly bandwidth to utilize. Your email (something like myname@suphysics.org) will be hosted with Microsoft live.com server, which means your email account gains full access to all services provided by microsoft (MSN, Hotmail, Spaces, etc). I mean you can login using your email address to MSN Messenger and automatically you also have your Spaces (Microsoft's version of friendster.com) account. Which means your email address will be your passport to all Microsoft.com's online services.
I will give some more details as soon as we have the system up and running.
Alex here:
Just an update for you guys. System is up and running as of this morning. I hope john can contact me via YM as soon as possible so i delegate the administration task for the server.
I volunteer to help with admin task, I have access to T1 network via office 5 days a week (can be 6 mostly)
Alex:
Schroedinger, kindly coordinate with john for admin username/password. thanks.
that's great! we sure could use more volunteers. my initial apprehension was that we wouldn't be able to find volunteers (aside from Bryan King) for administrative work. There's a lot of work to do, considering we're just starting up. Schroedinger, please add me to your YM list (jvilla1130), so we can discuss things.
